Game Balancing & Rewards

I just got back into the PvP tower and hit Platinum level, 2 frags of a Shrine of Knowledge, really? Some of the other rewards are 2 added attempts, or 2 whole frags of a wishing well, joy. I don't think it's exactly hard to convert all Chest prizes to [random], and increase the random pool to include current Event rewards. There's no major game impact as you only get these awards once per cycle, if you even reach them. Even the Daily Quests give you more for less. To get ahead in the PvP and reach the next level chest requires quite a few battles and then against player opponents who can set up effective defenses. PvP chests, by all rights, should be Major achievements.
If more rewards throughout the game were simply converted to Random, then throughout the game you'd have more curious players seeing what they could gain. So if an Event pops up and you're working on your Viking settlement, maybe a random award pops up and you gain 20 game currency. You buy a random crate at the Antiques dealer and you get 25 frags of a jumpin' pumpkin. Not too much of a code change, simply run a find & replace on older goods, swap out with a Random designator, and each day, the random pool grabs from the different events that have happened. It's disappointing to work or cross a threshold and only get fragments of things that have no relevance to the game.
And to be honest, there's no such thing as a Game Balance anymore. Those who have played the longest or spend the most usually dictate how the game goes. We've seen it in every aspect of the game. So what if an EMA player buys a random chest and gains a Knights Pavilion? It isn't going to break the game and it will give that EMA player an opportunity to have more units so they can participate more. A SASH player may get the same KP and sell it back, at least they spent the same amount of currency in the AD instead of having 3B of unused currency just sitting around. At least with the chance of fragments, everyone would be curious enough to see what was there instead of maybe 20 goods which don't mean a thing when you collect thousands daily.

So simply asking:
Would more random awards, taking the place of fixed [older and irrelevant] rewards make the game more interesting an playable?
Would you buy more random chests from the Antiques Dealer?
Would you participate more in GbG, GE, Settlements if some of those rewards were converted to Random and possibly include Event rewards/currency?

Players have been asking for updates and improvements on various mechanics that have been released over the years.

It's sadly rare they actually adjust anything after the initial release. AD did get updated items every so often but I can't recall the last time, Pvp, Tavern, Daily challenges all released and then abandoned of any updates and probably a few more mechanics I've forgotten. (tbh I had to remember what you meant by PvP I didn't really play it since the 1st release)

I got offered this a couple of weeks ago in Daily challenges which pretty much sums up the complete lack of updates. Not too sure who wants to win 10 year old event buildings but you would look pretty retro with a Tigers den and its massive 5 def on a 3x3. They do not care about mechanics previously released unless there's a decent revenue stream from it.

Let's face it, FOE is kicking the bucket, the original Devs have been replaced, INNO simply are tacking on whatever they can whether it works or not to try to keep their cash cow alive, but it's not working, sadly this once great game is breathing it's final breaths unless someone within INNO can actually have the balls to say stop, we are doing this all wrong and come up with real ideas to save what has become a embarrassing and humiliating slide into mediocrity and finally death

No

Rewards in GBG, GE, AD or Settlements stopped being a reason to do those game parts a long time ago. Don't even bother to look at them and why should I? You mention the Jumpin' Pumpkin as an example. I have 164 in my inventory and 19 Elite. Buildings in my city produce so many frags of almost everything that all other rewards have become meaningless. They could be improved, but why? I would not do anything with it anyway.

I'm actually still looking for 1 old reward that can only be won through 1 specific daily challenge and that's a second upgrade kit for my May Pole.

No for the random chests because there won't be anything I want or need.

No for the rewards you are mentioning as I get my event rewards from events and don't need RNG event currency as I get those with diamonds. P2W here.

I'm done with GbG as it's boring and don't need anything from its rewards.
GE is only good for the forgotten temple as truly reward. It's fast paced and I can do it when I want or have time so I'm fine here.
I'll always do settlements as I find them fun and challenging to do, including with diamonds for the triple chest joy and see how low I can get in diamond spending.

As P2W you can change the Daily Challenge.
As P2W I can be very patient and that's because it's my money and I don't like throwing it out of the FoE window. I didn't pay for 31 Eco Sanctums and 14 Regal Squirrel Halls for the time being, not finished yet, but use patience. ;-)
