I just got back into the PvP tower and hit Platinum level, 2 frags of a Shrine of Knowledge, really? Some of the other rewards are 2 added attempts, or 2 whole frags of a wishing well, joy. I don't think it's exactly hard to convert all Chest prizes to [random], and increase the random pool to include current Event rewards. There's no major game impact as you only get these awards once per cycle, if you even reach them. Even the Daily Quests give you more for less. To get ahead in the PvP and reach the next level chest requires quite a few battles and then against player opponents who can set up effective defenses. PvP chests, by all rights, should be Major achievements.
If more rewards throughout the game were simply converted to Random, then throughout the game you'd have more curious players seeing what they could gain. So if an Event pops up and you're working on your Viking settlement, maybe a random award pops up and you gain 20 game currency. You buy a random crate at the Antiques dealer and you get 25 frags of a jumpin' pumpkin. Not too much of a code change, simply run a find & replace on older goods, swap out with a Random designator, and each day, the random pool grabs from the different events that have happened. It's disappointing to work or cross a threshold and only get fragments of things that have no relevance to the game.
And to be honest, there's no such thing as a Game Balance anymore. Those who have played the longest or spend the most usually dictate how the game goes. We've seen it in every aspect of the game. So what if an EMA player buys a random chest and gains a Knights Pavilion? It isn't going to break the game and it will give that EMA player an opportunity to have more units so they can participate more. A SASH player may get the same KP and sell it back, at least they spent the same amount of currency in the AD instead of having 3B of unused currency just sitting around. At least with the chance of fragments, everyone would be curious enough to see what was there instead of maybe 20 goods which don't mean a thing when you collect thousands daily.
So simply asking:
Would more random awards, taking the place of fixed [older and irrelevant] rewards make the game more interesting an playable?
Would you buy more random chests from the Antiques Dealer?
Would you participate more in GbG, GE, Settlements if some of those rewards were converted to Random and possibly include Event rewards/currency?
