You'd have to be pretty bad at picking up your stuff on time for this GB to be worth all the resources it will now cost to build/level.
Only change is it will now cost you 500 EMA goods to build. That's it. All other costs are still the same.

Except there was a second change: EMA rewards on a HMA/No Age cost. Unless the cost is getting scaled to EMA as well (which isn't mentioned in the announcement) then it's going to cost more to level because of the change in rewards.

Thank you for confirming that the costs for the levels AND the contribution rewards are from the update on all " EMA" (comparable with CoA) and no longer "ageless/Oracle". Somehow there seems to be a lot of confusion in this context.

Yep, but if you look it from the brighter way, this GB basically exchanges all buildings that give boosts for your defending army, giving into account that defense nowadays is just plain worthless. So, in my honest opinion, it's even better to build one Galata Tower than to bother with building Watchtowers, Ritual Flames, St.Basil's Cathedral and other buildings that give boosts to defending army.

Nice theory that will not hold once the new PvP starts again.

Big question is: will PvP Arena bring anything good that makes your defence worth the grind? I think not, but let's wait for it to come to live servers.
Fast majority of players is pre Galata. The grind is already over. Might as well still benefit from it.

So Galata will now be cheaper to level up with 1,9?

Current cost to level up Galata to level 60 in 1,9 is 14403 FPs. To level up CoA which is EMA GB is 12982. So this means Galata is now cheaper. Please correct me if I'm wrong

@hawknz

"Last but not least, please keep in mind that with this change, the Galata Tower will become an Early Middle Ages’ Great Building, which means that all the contributions to evolve it will generate less Forge Points rewards to donators, as otherwise the Galata Tower would behave adversely from other Great Buildings."

Please also mention that total amount of FPs needed to level up will be decreased as well- which is a very important fact. So you won't make players think it will cost more to level up in 1,9. Or are you going to reduce rewards but keep the same amount of FPs needed to level as no ages GBs have? In that case this is cheating the community, how can amounts needed to level EMA GBs change all of a sudden??

so it says that "the Galata Tower will become an Early Middle Ages’ Great Building"
does is give more ranking point as EMA gbs? certainly leveling COA and HS gave more RP than leveling oracle. and will it give ranking points(the balance to EMA gb) to already leveled great buildings??

Why does that even matter... Its not only era by the way which determines the RP but also the building size for example... So HS will always give more RP when on the same level

The "age factor" when calculating rank points from buildings are higher from a No Age building than from an EMA building.
Ema *10, No Age *100
So, when changing Galata from No Age to EMA, the rank points from it will become lower.
Size of the building is a factor too, of course. CoA and HS are bigger EMA buildings than Galata, thus more rank points at same level.

It will cost you more. Rewards will be less, so you have to contribute more yourself.
