Great Buildings FP lost due to inactive players

Some people disconnect their entire cities from the townhall when they leave the game. This leads to GB that no-one can finish and lots of FP that are lost forever. E.g. the city of angelina23 on Killmore has been inactive for many weeks with an Arc at 3680/3773. Most of these points where of course invested by other players who now have no chance to get them back, let alone cash in on the investment.
Possible solutions I see are:
  • Allow players to invest in a foreign building even though it is disconnected
  • Return FP invested into GB if the player stays inactive for a certain periode of time

Great, your first suggestion means I can also plunder disconnected buildings. Second suggestion is even more ridiculous. What is a certain amount of time? Am I allowed to take a vacation? Should I apply for one beforehand?

Well. Life is a risk. So is putting FPs into a random player's GBs. Or ANY player's GB for that matter.

Just the way it is.

I generally limit my contributions to those who are friends (we'll do private swaps), but especially to those in the Guild. In both cases we, as players, communicate about absences etc. Nonetheless, I have two (2) contributions (one pile is over 200) just sitting and waiting for the player to either come back or, as the case may very well be, rise from the dead.

I'll let you know how it works out.

-1 from me.

I would also add that inactive players are deleted after a certain time period. I still see the GB of a player who left the game over 2 years ago.

Investing means you're risking something. If you don't like taking risks, you should not contribute to another GB. With 200+ people you can invest in at any single time, you're seriously worried that you lose on a couple of them? That's the point. Since you can win on most of them with just a little bit of planning, you really shouldn't worry about losing a few points here and there.

It's like buying a stock in real life, and when its price goes down, you ask for your money back. That's not how things work.

Just out of curiosity: are you actually not capable of arguing in a friendly, civilized way or is that a kind of behaviour you think to be cool because you are young and inexperienced?

I am not young and experienced, so it must be the first part.

Now I have a question for you. Are you capable to read how you are supposed to put an idea? If so, why didn't you? If not, why complain?

I am not complaining, I just wanted to find out if you're deliberately unfriendly or out of neccessity. That question was answered now, so let's move on.

Just stick her on ignore and be done with it. If you ever get the feeling that she is being kicked around a bit you can always read her posts anyway. Other than that she really does not contribute much so nothing is really missed.
