Hello Forge Fans,

This year marks a very important milestone for Forge of Empires—our 10th birthday! With our birthday only a couple of months away, we are currently busy with different plans to celebrate it in style!

Much of these plans, sadly, cannot be revealed at this time. What we can share today, is that there will be an event (based on the ages of the game, with a completely new mechanic), and during the festivities, we will also feature a video that tells your stories! It is for the latter that we need your help!

Imprinted in Forge of Empire's success, and the success of our thriving communities, are your experiences. We want to hear them!

Starting today, we will run a contest, where we ask that you leave a comment with your best Forge story or moment. We want to hear about your achievements, favorite moments, guild accolades, and personal successes! More than that, we want to hear about the lasting friendships, your fondest memories, as well as the impact our community has made! Essentially, we want to hear what has made Forge of Empires a fixture in your life! Who knows, we may even ask to use your story in our Forge Moments video!

With these stories, please include as much detail as you would like. However, there are a couple of important conditions:

1). Firstly, the contest will run from February 11th to the 25th of February, and only entries during that time will be considered for a prize.

1). Secondly, we ask you to refrain from providing any information that provides sensitive personal details about yourself or others (including name, address, location etc.).

2). Next, we would ask these stories follow forum rules, and that these stories are not designed to insult, deride, or be mean-spirited in nature.

3). In addition, we also ask you only submit one story per person. Therefore, please think in advance about which one you would like to submit!

4). Moreover, upon winning a prize, please wait for us to contact you via private message in the Forum. Especially if you have won merchandise, we ask you please do not share address details anywhere public!

5). Finally, for any stories that have inappropriate and sensitive content, we will have no choice but to delete the post.

Once you have submitted a story, we ask you to get involved and like your favorites! The winners will be selected by our community management team, but the most liked posts will be in strong consideration for prizes!

For those lucky enough to be among the winning entries, we have some tremendous prizes:

I am a beginning player who started playing the Viking settlement for the first time and came up with what I thought was a brilliant strategy: Don't build as many expansions by eliminating diplomacy to finish faster. Suddenly, diamonds were required to advance through the Embassy levels after I earned the necessary goods. I finished my first Viking settlement and switched over to the Egyptian settlement thinking maybe I wouldn't have to spend diamonds to advance through the Embassy levels like I previously did in the Viking settlement. As I'm spending diamonds while I began leveling up, I was ready to quit this settlement and all settlement play when the light went on; You have to match the required diplomacy with the goods for no diamond charge. Overwhelming joy; not just for saving diamonds from this point on, but now I was going to be able to finish and play all of the settlements.

So, depression can be cruel and unkind, but it can lead you things that are this game gives a unexpcted and Indulging, just like this game ! Came across this game by accident, while watching a youtube video , download and registered as is the usual and thought nothing of it until the game play and then the need to go and find friends and guilds. I have not been out of the house to socialise for a while, just to collect the basics for me and the person I care for.
The impersonal nature of selecting an avatar and the description of your village to town and then to a city has been stressful as i dont like to lie but this game gives a little to those that want to be a little brave!
i have been playing for only a few weeks when a quest requested me to visit taverns , i joined a guild and found its members aloof and uninspiring, then out of the blue i was attacked and plundered, the foe offered me a place on her guild , i thought this a new tactic and joined , never looked back since.
Timing is everything, during my work hours im not able to reach for my phone and have to mutethe notifications, but on a break and while on my lunch or dinner im here battling foes on GvG or getting rewards on GE and quests keep me in line with developments in my town.
Im amazed at the level of some players and am
realistic as to how long they have been playing to have reached at the levels they are at. So time is key and important, the future is out there to be explored and so as this game evolves so will it.

I started playing Forge of Empires just a few months before the Covid-19 pandemic started, and I found the game helped me cope with the effects of the restrictions that kept me isolated at home. For the whole first year I played, I raced through the research tree as fast as I could, and had no idea about how enjoyable the game could be through active guild membership. I joined a guild after that first year of completely unguided play where I got some really valuable advice on the teamwork aspects of the game, and how to much more effectively build my city. Many of the guild's members helped me fix my city up and build a level 80 Arc, which has fundamentally changed how I play the game. I have been rewarded by my guild by being promoted to a leadership position, which I deeply appreciate. Lastly, and most importantly, I have become friends with one of the guild members who really helped me understand the game better. We discuss things and events that happen in our lives outside of the Forge of Empires world, and I'm grateful that playing Forge of Empires has given me the connections with others around the world from which this friendship developed. Thank you.

I started playing last year.
I needed something to occupy some time as I am 95% housebound due to disability and chronic pain.
Distraction is the best defence against pain and so after seeing an advert or FoE I signed up and started my Bronze Age village and only intended to play for a few weeks.
I am now on High Middle Ages and a member of Joyous Guild on East Nagach and I love it.
Games like this are to some just a game, but to many of us like me, they are a way to soak up some of the very long days and also a way to chat to other players, it becomes a way for you to have a social life.
I love FoE because even when I am having a very rough day, it is easy to play and as I said it helps to distract me not only to help with pain but also as a distraction from all the negative news and the worrying world that we now find ourselves in!
Thank you FoE team!

Nothing prepares you for FoE, my normal generic drop pattern games where boring me…as you can tell I’m not a computer gamer in fact I hardly ever touched a compute. But I was bored now and needed more from my iPad, so I started looking in my apps for a new game, FOE looked so interesting but not to hard… I found a guild, FoE showed you how to play as you went along… great I was loving it, but no one hardly spoke…GE was locked, then someone (now a friend) suggested I move to her friends guild, ’what have I got to lose‘ I thought, (being the biggest scaredy cat ever) I joined, but it was so scary, there where all these rules you had to abide by, she told me not to worry and to play the game as I had been doing and I’d be ok so I did. Again I was insecure, there was so much I didn’t understand, they spoke a different language, about GBs getting FPs in the 1.9 and getting a SoK in the AH for a certain amount of TCs, it was bewildering so I asked questions and spoke to the leaders and they came up with different threads for such myself (a newbie) to help us, such as :-what are swaps, what are fair trades, how to use the 1.9, best armies, and an abbreviation tread, what a difference it‘s made to me, so now I listened to what they say in the pub (for chitchat only) and in the help desk, now I understand what they are talking about and learn more all the time.
Well consequently about a year later I’m doing well, and I now help newbies progress, I wrote up a detailed few paragraphs explaining all the things I’d wished I’d known when I was a newbie. I send newbies a welcome PM and tell them not to worry and that the information I wrote up is there if they wish me to send it to them, my friends are many now and the general chitchat and laughs we have make my day, but to be able to help others grow and enjoy the game to its full potential is an achievement in its self for me, and helps our little guild community get to its goals. so I can certainly say FoE let’s you forge your own path along the way to how you want to play. It’s just brilliant Experienc.

My favorite moment happened just this week. I've been playing for five years, and our guild has members from all over the World. One of my oldest FoE friends posted this week that his family located in Brisbane, Australia just lost their home in a housefire. We were able to cross the "fourth wall", and participate in a Go Fund Me event to help his family back on their feet. FoE might be a game, but the friendships made are even better, and the real World matters! When it's fun for one, it's fun for all. We might never meet in person, but when one of us hurts, we all hurt with them.

My fiancé introduced me to this game last year during lockdown. Since then I have been addicted to the game. I remember how during lockdown with nothing to do, I would log in my forge account every 15 minutes or so to see if there were coins or supplies to collect even though I knew I had to wait for some time:lol: I also remember how I tried to reconstruct my town for one specific world several times because I was not satisfied. I am always trying to reconstruct my town in each world which is challenging but fun. Forge of Empires was, is and will always be my favorite.

My best moment is when I got the Gold Reward among the top 1% of all payers in the old ranking. Great little building came with the reward. I'll never get rid of it. Felt like I achieved something.

I started playing in December of 2021, in the time of pandemic. I got sick and as I was spending most of my time laying in bed, I began to look for some more ambitious game, and I liked the commercials for Forge of Empires, so I started playing.

I remember being amazed by the graphics and the history behind the ages, but the true surprise was for me when I unlocked the guilds.

Until then I treated this as a single player game, was curious about different ages and so on, but then I joined one of the guidls. I went head first into conversation about history and philosophy, I saw people with names after monarchs and othe historical figures, with the avatars from different time periods. It was very surreal :)

The language was on such high level, Everybody was nice to each other, helpful to a newbie, explaining the mechanics behind the game. I even received messages with congratulations after advancing to a new age.

That was my introduction to the game, and at the same time, my best memory from it.

Someone sent me a message of an offer to trade goods for fp to build my Arc. I had enough goods to build the arc, so I asked to trade fp for Kraken and Terracotta Army goods and they said yes. Months later I messaged friends that had the Space Carrier to again trade fp for goods and one said they’ll do my trades for 0 fp. Wow, fantastic I was lucky.

I started playing in the stone age while researching rocks and geomorphology. Then as I was excavating metals, I hit Iron age. Now I'm sitting in the early middle ages. I have made lots of friends and have enjoyed playing so far... I am looking forward to progressing more even though I have only full understood great buildings just now:D

I live in NZ, having emigrated 15 years ago and have been playing FoE for about 9 months. Recently I joined a new guild in C and have had some fantastic help and support from the entire team. They have been brilliant.
However, I have also discovered that one of the other players actually lives in my home town back in England. It isn't a particularly large town and he knows all the same places I grew up around.
This has been a great way for me to catch up with my old hood and find out how much has changed.
It is great how this game brings people together form all over the world... or even from just next door.
Thanks Inno.

I started playing FOE in Jul 2014 when I was working in China. At times the local connection was laggy or blocked and I had to ”climb the Great Wall” via VPN to play FOE. 3 months later, i went home to Singapore. Over the years, no matter where I traveled, I will still play FoE in Spain, UK, Dubai or Thailand. Through FOE, I have made many good and friendly players and introduced the game to my colleagues and stayed in touch with them over the years. This is a great and versatile game for anyone anywhere at any life stage. Kudos to the development team and Keep up the good work!

Although Forge is only a game, it is such a nice break from reality. It is such a great way to decompress, relax and creative relationships with other like minded people. Thank you for the constant updates and progression of the game. Each update provides a new refreshing twist on the game, always keeping us interested and wanting more. Such a pleasure of a game to play, and a community to be a part of.

I have long believed and told others that the social aspect of Forge rather than the gameplay itself is what keeps many of us coming back day after day, year after year. I have been playing for almost 5 years now and have developed many great friendships along the way. The last couple years in particular really demonstrated the power of the friendships we can create here as the daily chatting in these shared worlds offered a connection that many of us were missing otherwise during long periods of relative isolation. The online world offers relative anonymity that the so called “real world” doesn’t offer, which means you can be whoever you want to be here. Some may choose to bully, others choose to build up. Some put on facades while others lay themselves bare and share openly. There is a certain freedom here that allows us to share more of ourselves than we might if we were face to face with a person. From the cornerstone of a shared interest in this game we often discover just how much we share despite being a world apart. It could be music, movies, food or drink, geographical location, or a dozen other things but when you start sharing yourself with the people in this game you regularly discover all the things that bring us together rather than tear us apart. In the years I’ve played this game I’ve laughed so hard it hurt and have hurt so much I cried, I have celebrated and I have mourned with those around me and through it all I have shared… my time, my experience in both the game and life itself, and my highs and my lows along the way. What started as mere entertainment or a distraction from the day to day became almost therapeutic as we built our cities, we fought side by side, and we talked about the game, our interests, and everything in between.

Along the way I met a Forger who intrigued me like no other. She was smart, she was driven, she was generous, she was real and honest, and she always put the guild first each day. What started as brief chatting in Forge between a couple guild mates half a world apart quickly deepened as we began to discover so many similarities between us and began to form a bond unlike any either of us had ever known. We wove our endless conversations between 2 shared Forge worlds, texts, calls, and video chats jumping seamlessly from one to the next without losing a beat and still do every single day. When we finally met face to face there was such a peace and connection between us that all I could think of is the quote attributed to Buddhists that “When you meet your soulmate you’ll feel calm. No anxiety, no agitation.” While there are still some things to be sorted we know that the next time I step off a plane where she stands waiting it will be the start of our forever together. While the idea of discovering true love online still seems like a fairytale to many, the ways in which this game fosters an environment where people can work & play together, laugh together, and cry together will only serve to make stories like ours more commonplace for years to come.

This is one strategy game that gave me so many human emotions from joy to sadness from vengeance to competitiveness from anger to calmness from friendship to brotherhood....and strategy lessons for leading better life I must say......I reckon on feeling on top of the world when I completed all levels of an event building for the ist time key being complete focus..or ist time completing GE level 4 by spending alot of diamonds (stingy me learnt to spend strategically)..I realised how nice and humble some players are especially when I all of sudden was offered Arc goods for free or how a player exalted with joy on getting 10 cloth for 5 marble trade or how when a player sends a thank you note everyday on visiting his tavern (best strategy ever very competitive to get entry into his tavern.. teaching to be quick)..After being plundered I learnt how to plunder for quests and strategies to avoid plunder (most times I didnt care though)... best plunder was of an ex guildmate just to send him message of missing him and reminding about me and of course the guild...I loved the oneness of my guild to win gbg...a senior players challenge was good enough to get me winning lot of fights without any attack/defense buildings even with 32 attrition for 1st time...I had so much joy in joy of a friend who keeps making me hear to the black tower's sound as he loves it :PPP... I never thought my avtars could have caring secret admirers :P who everyday ask me to order which building to aid...I was very sad :( when a friend of mine couldnt win fiaore village set due to internet issue as he procrastinated and was ready to quit with him or give away my account to him that made our bond even founder and made him forget his agony....it is these movements and many more that were to become part of my life that made me rejoin this game after 10 years....
