Proposal
Give posters a time window to edit their mail. And leave a timestamp indicating mail was edited.

Have you Checked the Ideas section for the same idea posted by someone else?
I've found no similar idea.

Reason
Typos you can't amend are irritating.

Details
It can get sorted through coding?

Balance/Abuse Prevention
People can always abuse this to change previous statements but the timestamp showing they amended a mail is enough to point to cheating.

not sure I get what you mean
In your abuse prevention you said:

People can always abuse this to change previous statements but the timestamp showing they amended a mail is enough to point to cheating.

But your reason for having the feature is:
Typos you can't amend are irritating.

So what we're saying is the fact a message was edited in and of itself isn't enough to say whether someone said something against the rules OR simply corrected a typo.

But if there's a record of all edits that occurred then the feature can't be lied about.

If it's only editable until it's seen by another player then it can't be abused in any meaningful way as no one would have received it if you can edit it.
