Why, please, tell me why every online's strategie games adopt this economic model ? In this model, more you spend real money more you are strong in the game, for a strategic game it's a nonsense. Why no one try another economic model based on subscription, I'm sure that could make good money too, with no one else on this market and the old hardcore players ( 30-40 ) like me who waiting for our Graal, a MMORTS where only the strategie lead to victory.

Thank to the designers to think about it.

the reason so many games are adopting this strategy is the same reason all those stores put magazines, junk food and other gizmos nobody "NEEDS" in your face at the checkout counter. because impulse spending accounts for the majority of things bought, not needed.. food, water, clothing etc are needed but other stuff.... it works and you will probably continue to see it blow up in even more in the future cause it just works way to well to NOT use it.

edited to add...
however look at it this way. if you went out to a movie, it would cost you $20 for the movie and a couple snacks for 2 hours entertainment. this way you spend your $5, $10, $20 whatever you can afford and you have a game you can play however long you want to play, no limits. somebody has to pay to keep these servers here. bills aren't cheap and neither is the staff to run stuff like this.

+1

MMORPGs before where pay-to-play (pay a certain amount to play within a certain time range) and as soon as the gaming industry changed, it had another kind of strategy... to purchase in-game items/unlock more features. They were addictive, and these kind of strategy yielded more profit to these gaming industries. So now, games are free-to-play but in order to "hasten up" things or beat the game easily, you need to spend moneeey. But still, you could be at the top, or be among the best players if you play it right or maybe hard enough without spending real $$$. ;)

Please remember that developing an online game is very expensive. In order for the entire community to play, premium options are necessary for us to finance and host the game. We would like to develop the game beyond the late middle ages at some point, and hope to do so with your support. It is every ones own choice if they wish to play with premium or not. If you do not wish to use premium that is your choice, however some players enjoy this option. Activity is the main means of advancement, and we have tried very hard to balance the game so EVERY player can be successful.

Working in the game development industry myself, I can understand that developing an online game is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. And it is pretty easy to see your design principles early on in : If you want to make money, instead of rewarding your player for playing, punish them for not playing.

But the time you have spent balancing the benifit of purchasing diamonds is clearly very little, or it has been squandered. What I don't understand is, you guys had a fantastic economic model in tribalwars, a design that allows people to, and I say this loosely, play the game at maximum efficiency without having to spend a cent. Not only this, but the changes you would have to make to this game to make it more appealing are very simple, and obvious.

But instead of this, you opted for farmvile. Not me, nor any of my other hardcore tribalwars playing friends, who were just looking for a refreshing change of pace developed by a familiar company, will be playing this game.

In my opinion, premium should only ever give PASSIVE bonuses, like in TribalWars and - to an extent - The-West. Subscriptions with a time window of one or two weeks. Examples: increase income of all supply and gold buildings with 5%. Increases the number of forge points you can support by 50% and decrease the time it takes for them to accumulate by 5%. The 'collect-all' button would've been a good addition if it wouldn't be so ridiculously expensive. I'd rather click 20 times instead of throwing roughly €0.20 out of the window.

The Premium option may still change in the future. Also many of our premium options are extremely fair. The "collect all" and "unspoil" feature do not give a direct advantage to an active player, and are for comfort. But as I mentioned before using premium is a choice each player must make for themselves.

So Researching everything in a day, many insta-builds, more troops etc... is fair?

Why does premium mean extra game features or win buttons, why not like Tribal wars?

This game screams for a halfway-passive premium account. Let's say something like built in auto-collect for houses, auto-collect supplies at 1h rate with adding the difference to 12*5min when you click it in that hour, maybe add the asked-for deposit area for moving around buildings, an extended point-bar of 15, and stuff like that. Let's say 5 bucks a month for that. I think many would gladly take it. :D

True, you'd get more money from many people paying less then a few paying lots.

I've used a bit of premium so far and i've got to say it's not over the top, the diamonds go VERY fast compared to premium on other browser games. Only bad thing would be if/when someone with ALOT of cash to spend comes along....

I'm sorry but the collect all option should be 5 diamonds at the most. It takes like 10 seconds at the most to collect all your buildings if you compare it to something like Forge points each one costs 50 diamonds and that is saving you an hour. Or if you compare it to some trade goods where you can get 10 for 50 diamonds that would take you 8 hours to make.

maybe they change it after they get enough money to developing this game :D

I highly doubt that. Because all they want is MONEY MONEY MONEY. That's all they care about. TW is okay. Grepolis is falling down the money hole and this game is already 2KM'S DOWN THE MONEY HOLE. That's how ridiculous this is. I will be telling my friends to find another game. As will I.

This game is the same as Evony! I wouldn't be surprised if they actually copied the structure of Evony to make the same amount of money!
