Deleting/Updating Troops

Is it possible to delete past age troop barracks to replace them with current age barracks when some of them assigned to the PvP arena? I've not run up against this issue previously until now. I'm not even sure how some became assigned let alone how to either unassign or kill the off.

It won't let me delete the barracks. It just says it can't be done with the units assigned to the PvP. I've deleted other barracks to make room before with no problems until now. I guess I need to know how do you kill them off or unassign them so I can delete the barracks.
