It's a wonderful idea. It's not that we can't get the info other ways, but rather that it simplifies the process.

If your logic for saying no to this is "we already have something else in place" then eliminate the overhead UI that pops up every aid and tavern visit notification because you already have the event history. Eliminate the visual aids that say you're under siege in GvG because you already have the event logs to say you're under attack.

For that matter why have any kind of feedback in the game userface if you already have the inventory?

Having another way to access info is not a bad thing if it's there to make it easier to compile and keep track of.

Yes we can see players go up an age in event history. But that info is not always easy to look at in a glance. There's quite a few pages it can easily get lost and is only there for a week. Whereas this idea is a place for player specific info that won't get lost in the sea of other info, is updated live meaning you don't need to continually monitor on a daily basis for it to remain current and useable.

It also means if a player is looking for guidance in a age specific question, they can approach those that have that experience.

At a glance pester the right peeps in the guild to donate to the treasury when in need for specific era...
