Champion's Retreat

Is the only way to get one of these through events? I like using them for defense in my GvG sectors.

Also, is there any way to upgrade one from a previous era?

Maybe, they can give some more out. They are too rare, imo.

As of today, it has only been available through events.

You can upgrade Champion's Retreat with One Up Kit to upgrade to the subsequent age or Renovation Kit to upgrade to the current age.

There are threads upon threads of people begging for 1 down kits and to allow reno kits to lower a building to a specific age because they want lower age chumpions for GvG. Consider that, or you may wind up joining them later on. Champ retreats will continue to be available, but as of now you can never turn out champs of lower ages if you upgrade your retreats.
