If the beta play was any indication, this is going to be fun watching the gak fly!lol. :P

...so, considering one of the biggest complaints/suggested fixes from the beta version - the 6hr prize rotation was kept, I have very low expectations for this event.
So unless you're willing to give up some sleep every single day, you're guaranteed to miss at least 1 prize per 24hr period. Lame Inno, super, super lame.

Also, heads-up, quest #28 or 29 on beta: 'Scout a Province' (no alt option)
Bet a whole slew of players are going to quit the second they hit that turd sunday.

Oh well, so bad so sad. I don't see what the big deal is. This really only comes up a few times a year.

This auto completes when you've scouted all so I can't see any problem.

As Inno does more and more of this buildings that must be attached to each other, it adds to the pain of adjusting your city layout. There needs to be an Inno design feature that "merges" the buildings together so you can move all of them at the same time and move them in one click. In MS Office Powerpoint, this feature is creatively called "grouping". You can ungroup them later if you need to but grouping once and moving around as needed would be a big improvement.

I must've missed that bit

Thanks :D

Extract from Carnival 2019 Announcement

In the Carnival Event you compete against players from your Neighborhood. Every time you lose, the pool of Florins rises for that particular option. The first person from your Neighborhood lucky enough to win, will take all the Florins that have accumulated in the meantime. While winning the first game is not much of an achievement (you will always win a small sum of Florins), it is a bit more difficult for the second and third game. If you have enough luck to be successful, you will win the entire Florins pool that has accumulated for this particular game.

To avoid you losing out on the accumulated Florins in one of the games, the Neighborhood will not change during the whole event.

Never understood the complaints about the 6 hour daily prize rotation, as the prizes appear more than once. If the same prizes only appeared at the same time slot in the rotation, then that would be a problem

Well, perhaps my explanation will help. 6 hours prize change is really bad and unconsidered. Some people are working and some people are working in different hours each and every day. As my name states I am a truck driver. Obviously I can't play at work (the cops certainly frown upon it) and after 14 hour shift I need at least a little bit of sleep. So I can login daily into FoE, but only for short period of time and EACH DAY THAT TIME IS AT DIFFERENT HOUR OF A DAY. So actually, if let say the Clock Tower was "always" in midnight slot, there was a chance that at least once during that event I'd login into FoE in that midnight slot. But as you've pointed out, the prizes rotate and the slot assignment is random (perhaps not random for Inno, but random enough for an outside observer), that there were prizes I simply did not see the whole event. Simple as that.

I don't believe I'm the only trucker playing FoE, nor do I believe mine is the only profession with floating work times and all these other limitations.
So yes, 6 hours prizes switching is really bad, it was one of the major complains on beta and they kept it. Thus it could be safely assumed they've kept other bad things about this event, so it rightfully won the title of "The worst event in FoE history".

Good luck to all who will try this dumb game of double chance where the odds are so not in your favor, that having the same odds in Casino would be deemed illegal.

jtrucker, i'm very surprised you haven't been bombarded with all sort of weird comments but it's so true what you're saying, InnoGames wants you you to spend the most amount of hours playing the game and then they introduce vikings and quests one after each other so that the possibility of you be tempted to buy diamonds is high, it's all a huge million dollar making quick money business for them as there are thousands of players that buy diamonds regularly to try and keep up with the game

I had read it but probably skimmed over that bit :D
I more interested as I move up an age after the last hood change and this will give me more time to consolidate my position before being moved to a stronger hood :D

You are playing the international sever. Care to explain how they could do it so all will have the same chances?

He just has. It has been explained numerous times you do not need to spend diamonds.

Unfortunately, this event will probably be one of, if not THE money maker for Inno of the big seasonal events...
With the way the tickets -> florens mini games are set, there's plenty of players who will drop 15-20+ tickets in one go, miss the pot, and then spend a few diamonds to get another 11 tickets to keep going & score a big pot of florens.

And if a few thousand players do that even just 3-4 times through the event, that's a whole lotta diamonds being spent! (and that's without even factoring in the true whales who tend to go for 5-10+ full sets!lol)

This is a great event for Inno, as it plays on the principle of aiming for that 'low hanging fruit' as we say in retail. ;)

You are playing the international sever. Care to explain how they could do it so all will have the same chances?

very easily - two possibilities, both better than this 6 hours prize switch.
a) make it at least 12 hours prize switch - that would increase the possibility of people seeing any given prize dramatically. Yes, there still will be times people like me can't login (14 hours shifts) but it would be SIGNIFICANTLY lower.
b) Instead of chasing two separate prizes for each building (base level and upgrade) make it like in the past a selection kit for each building, then you'll be chasing after only 5 prizes (each you'd need to obtain twice - that is challenge enough in this game of chance - it is really a chance - I did win the special price on first click one time and then another time I spend over 6000 florins without winning the special even once). And with 5 different specials instead of ten you can go back to the best system - "daily special" changing the prizes at midnight (server time) that would allow everyone on the planet to see each special. The game mechanic is present (both daily special and selection kits) as it was used in the past. Actually this event does have selection kits too - you'll get one at the end of the event as well as league rewards. Players on beta were literally begging for it to be implemented, yet it fell on deaf ears.

He just has. It has been explained numerous times you do not need to spend diamonds.

You are right. You do not NEED to spend them. It is a game of chance. You shouldn't spend any more diamonds that you'd be gambling away in Casino. Even 10 thousand diamonds will NOT guarantee you the desired prize because you cannot buy it and in game of chance you might win it in first chest or you might spend thousands upon thousands florins without getting it. There are players on beta who did get full lvl 2 set for free and there are those who spent a couple thousand of diamonds without getting even lvl 1. So the choice is everyone's. You cannot buy the prizes even if you are millionaire, but you can certainly gamble your riches away. Or just play it for free (even if you would normally spend some) to get what you get because you can't increase the odds at all.
(hey, there is a hope that Inno increased the terribly low odds. That is of course not a part of the announcement, so we won't know until after the event starts )

i never said that i spend diamonds on Forge of Empires, what i said was:
"there are thousands of players that buy diamonds regularly to try and keep up with the game"

What irritates me is that they always put this requirement after the 'take some sectors' requirement , so I have to scout a new province, take the sectors, take ALL the other sectors and then scout another province.
I understand that Innogames are trying to give people an incentive to advance on the map, but they have really brought this situation upon themselves; people like me wouldn't be sitting constantly in the same place on the map without moving if we hadn't learnt by bitter experience that there will be an event every month and that we have to reserve ALL our provinces for event purposes if we are to have any chance at keeping pace with the map at all...

PLUS daily challenge has "take x amount of sectors" several times a week. If there is more than 2 I simply ignore a daily challenge for that day, but still. It is quite unfortunate IMO. (I'm far ahead on the map than my city era already).
