Can't plunder

Hi why is it that some neighboors I just battled and won when I click on plunder it brings me to their city however their plunder icon is greyed out? I have a new neibourhood today and I know its not because I plundered them recently, and hit at least 6 of those today, quite frustrating after winning battles.

if everything has been collected you will not be able to plunder until a building has finished producing.
With some cities the owner may have stopped playing and everything has been plundered long ago.

Just keep checking their cities. It is possible to plunder up to 24 hours after the victorious battle.

The player could also have a Tavern City Wall running.

If it is what I am thinking of= the City Defense- it lets you know before you can even engage that there is a Tavern City Defense up and for how much longer.

You see it when you click on the crossed swords to attack- it tells you they have a City Shield and how much longer it is viable.

no it can't be the reason for not being able to plunder

because that shield doesn't protect against plundering
it only protects against attacking

so you can still plunder even if it was activated after you attacked

True- general topic was about plundering- Question I answered was
"where do you see that?" in respect to the City Shield from Tavern- after Galladhorn mentioned it---
