Black Friday - More like Overpriced Madness

*MJ*

Private
I am astonished, as is pretty much everyone in my various guilds, at the downright ludicrous, and actually insulting offers that Inno prepared for this fantastic Forge Friday. From 90k medals for 235 diamonds, the offers got gradually worse and more and more as though Inno could not actually give 2 pence about what people are likely to spend diamonds on!

A total Panda kit for 100 quid... ok... maybe

But 3200 diamonds for 1, yes one Heroes Tavern selection kit? Wow. Yet another demonstration that Inno have totally lost the plot. I was half expecting the next offer to be a complete set of blueprints for OD... at the very reasonable price of 1 kidney. I mean, really! Is there anyone here who actually thought there was anything that was good value? Inno, the whole point of Black Friday is actually that. Good deals that people are tempted to take, NOT charging the earth for something that no one will buy.

There is so much going nowhere in this game that the only obvious direction the game is going becomes clear - fleece newbies for stuff. The game has lost its touch with reality for older players - AD is no longer AD, but JY.... a junk yard for dumping unwanted, totally redundant stuff that we ALL accumulate from GE... Most of the GBs have lost their purpose too... and the power creep accompanying all this... enough said for now!

Inno, I think it is time to wake up and change aspects of the game so it actually works for slightly more people

tl/dr Inno has clearly lost touch with it's community and what certain buildings are worth

Today the offers that Inno have presented us with, aren't really worth the price. Yes, I understand Inno is a business but 100 pounds for just a Panda Shrine and 5 selection kits is shameful. Absolutely shameful. For a fully upgraded phantom / other golden Tower of Conjunction buildings it would take you back 75 pounds, again not worth it. What I believe is that inno should lower the pricing, as next year these building might even be on some people's ditch list.

Cartographer's house is certainly not worth 20 pounds either, personally I'd pay 3.50 for one, 5 quid absolutely max, lower prices mean more sales.

500 diamonds for a few thousand medals is not worth it, nor is 995 diamonds for 50 forge points, when most players make at least that amount daily, so why not make the prices more realistic and look at the current player economy but also seeing the statistics on what people have and what they produce daily, perhaps your revenue stream might even increase.

900 diamonds for a reno kit is also shameful, it's disappointing even as that roughly equates to 10 pounds.

3200 diamonds for 1 Heros Tavern Selection Kit is also not worth it either, that at the very most be around 1600 on the pricier end, not 3200 diamonds. And if someone wanted a lv 10 hero's tavern from just those selectionkits it would cost them 32000 diamonds which if you were to buy would cost a grand total of: over 200 pounds, far worse than their Panda Shrine Package, however people can thankfully obtain diamonds via free methods.

This isn't the first Black Friday and every time the comments are the same. Yet Inno keeps continuing it. Could it be it actually is a succes for them? What you think of it does not matter. What matters is what the people that buy the items think. To them it obviously is a great concept.

They do make money with minimal effort with black friday, that's for sure

The annoying part is that you can't see the stats of the buildings, so a player who is not familiar with them has no way to tell if he actually needs those buildings or not.

And I agree about the prices - way too high.

All you have to do to see the stats is click on the image

Clikc where, exactly?

You click on the image on the app. On PC you use mouse-over. You are playing long enough to understand that what you are looking at is the full building with a golden upgrade and for the Panda Shrine even some extras. You could even deduct that from the image shown. When in doubt you could always use the Wiki to see what stats you get, so what's your problem?

Nothing wrong with this at all. If anything - many players have proven the old adage 'more money then brains' and so Inno is just cashing in on them, like any profit making company would do.
As far as the diamond costs - many more players than those with excess disposable income - have a multitude of diamond farms - so why shouldn't Inno be creating gold, err, diamond-sinks like this for these players. Just because you do not like the marketing strategy does not mean it is not a workable strategy. And as long as you have people who can spend endless amounts of money, then you will continue to find companies trying to seperate these people from their unwanted monies.

My problem is that this info is not available in the game itself when it should be. If they are going to ask for 20 bucks for a single building, the least they could do is provide the stats of the buiding people would get if they pay.

Stats are/were never shown on these Black Friday deals, or any deal, so what took you so long? What is really bugging you that this has become a problem now?

They do provide it - in their Wiki.
The other stat - how much people would reduce their available monentary value - is different in each country, so they cannot provide a stat for that.

Same with the other images on that screen.

Must be a Mobile App VS Desktop thing

Mobile gives the stats when clicking on the image of the building

Thanks! Looks like it is an App vs Desktop issue. I hope in the future they make the Desktop version the same as the App one.

That assumes potential buyers know about the wiki and remember to use it. There are players - especially new ones - who don't know about it, and others who forget about it. And then there's always the possibility of the wiki being inaccessible for whatever reason. Which is why I consider it better if the info is available in-game. If they can do that on the App they should be able to to do it on Desktop too.

Stats are/were never shown on these Black Friday deals, or any deal, so what took you so long? What is really bugging you that this has become a problem now?
Now is when I noticed the issue, so now is the time I give feedback about it. "It has always been this way" is not an excuse.

Anyway, Black Friday is over for this year, so I guess we're done until next year... or more likely, until the next such "special offer".

But how do you know what the offers are until you open a world, then you are stuck with it, there should be a choice as to which world you would like to assign a purchase to, but I suppose that's wishful thinking and its possible it's too difficult to arrange , as I already knew this I just never bothered with any deal, and sadly was out when the Diamond deal must have come up, only one worth botherering about as it counts across all worlds, so doesn't matter which world you are in ( apart from the castle points of course ), the rest of the deals as usual were ludicrously overpriced.

INNO should look at how the retail trade does business, it it better to sell 100 items at an overpriced £100, thus gaining £10,000....or sell 1000 of the same items at a vastly reduced price of £25, thus making £25,000....food for thought INNO....especially as the cost to provide these deals doesn't cost you anything apart from the devs sorting out the programming for the sale

Panda Shrine and Tower of Conjuction packs were fine but the Heroes Tavern was too expensive by a factor 2 at least.

During an event it costs around 12k/15k diamond for an extra full event building (with gold pass bought) so 32k for a non upgraded heroes tavern is too expensive.
