Attacked and beaten daily but no losses?

Being attacked and beaten by the same (superior army, different era) person 2 days in a row now but no losses to me, not even any defending units.
How come? Is this normal? (still very new)
Thanks for any advice.

Yes, your defending army is instantly regenerated ready for the next attack, your only losses will be if you are plundered

your army regenerates and if they did not plunder you count yourself lucky.:hide:
