Are total amount of VP used in GBG to pair guilds in a season

Is the total amount of gained victory points during a championship used to determine, which guilds will be paired in the upcoming season?
My guild will have 1000 LP after this season. And I'm curious, if the amount of total VP will have any effect on what opponents we'll have the next season?
