Proposal:
Give players with an Alcatraz GB the ability to partially adjust troop output by excluding certain barracks per day for a price
Have you checked the Ideas section for the same idea posted by someone else? yes - nothing obvious
Reason:
A limited ability to focus recruitment via an Alcatraz would lead to more strategic game play and flexibility.
The current random recruitment process leads to many troops recruited never being used or city barracks being overbalanced or players not building or using various troops or barracks. The special barracks Rogues, Drummer, Color Guard and Champion (and presumably barracks for yet to be designed special troops) are always included in the random selection of troops recruited each day by an Alcatraz and lead to an oversupply of some troops and an under supply of others. For example many players build up a number of rogue barracks and then find it difficult to build up a supply of troops for DAs.
Being able to, for a price, exclude a barracks from recruitment by an Alcatraz for a day will allow more game play across more eras and players to respond more quickly to changes on the GvG maps. In other words you are bribing your recruiter to allow more focused recruitment for one collection
Details:
If you have an Alcatraz - you can click on your Alcatraz before collection & exclude from recruitment one or more of the special barracks you have. Each exclusion would have a price (goods era related, but perhaps goods/ coins/ supplies/ diamonds?) multiplied by the number of barracks you have of that type.which would escalate as you exclude more types of barracks
eg. Assume you have 5 rogue barracks, a drummer and a color guard and HMA barracks of each type (12 barracks)
To build exclusively an HMA army you would exclude:
rogues by paying 1st exclusion fee x 5 barracks
drummer by paying 2nd exclusion fee x 1 barrack
color guard by paying 3rd exclusion fee x 1 barrack
Visual Aids:
not that talented
Balance:
This would not lead to creating more troops but rather allow more of the troops to be recruited to be regular troops thus promoting GvG and GE fighting. The price for exclusion would have to be carefully considered to ensure that it does not lead to an imbalance - it shouldn't be cheap
Players would still have to build normal barracks to be able to recruit them
The use of goods as the base currency for exclusion would provide a balance between focused era armies and the ability to lay sieges as well as require goods buildings.
Abuse Prevention:
Can't think of one - but I am sure some one will. If there is a potential abuse, the ability to use the feature could be time restricted - ie only 2 days in a row or the like
Summary:
The proposal is that players be able to refine the output of their Alcatraz GB to increase the production of regular troops for a price
