AI fighting

DeletedUser5136

Why when fighting AI's do they always target long range units first? for example i had 3 crossbows and because the AI go's first in the battles there catapults took them out before they were in range of shooting anything

Because AI troops go after your more dangerous units first, and the AI troops will move extra move to kill your wound troops too, Like go though rocks, woods like they are not there.

Yes, apparently the AI first attacks your ranged units - you can try to stay out of their reach in the first round (which isn't that easy as they cover almost all of the map) and use your own long range units to take them out first, so that your rangers or crossbows stand a better chance.
Good luck!
