Hey fellow FoE'ers,
I have been playing for the better part of a week, and have not spotted a single ad in the entire game; or the requirement to watch them.
This morning I go to play and I am required to watch an ad for the following: Tavern boosts, aiding (all 3 types), and the Castle system. I can actually tolerate an ad for a 4-hour boost. In fact, I almost consider that fair. But an ad for each of the 3 forms of 'aiding'? This absolutely blew my mind to smithereens as FoE has pushed, and made it a core mechanic of progressing, getting BPs, and an injection of coins. This feels like I am watching ads just to exist.
Make no mistake, I am well aware that this game is a mechanism for revenue - it's a business - which is why I can tolerate a balanced approach to generating it.
I am sure some of you will say "if you don't like it, then leave" - fair enough. If that's the response you want to give me, I will take it. I can appreciate that no one is forcing me to watch ads at the end of the day. But man oh man, is this a rotten strategy for longevity and retention.
I guess more than anything, I am just absolutely puzzled at this move.
Hope you all have a wonderful week.
