A Famine Struck the Worlds

DeletedUser114565

Proposal: A 60-day famine event that struck the worlds

Have you checked for similar ideas?: Can’t find in the Other Category

Reason: To add realistic events and see how this event will impact strategies as well as the layout of the cities

Details: The Oracle of Delphi showed a sign of misfortune coming to the worlds and the followers interpreted and concluded that a 60-day famine will struck the worlds when the limited goods resource became more limited. During the 60-day period, all of buildings that produce goods will have its productivity reduced to 3/5 of the current production rate.

Amount of time to produce goods not affected.
Coins and supplies required to produce the goods got halved.
GB production of goods got reduced proportionately.
Special buildings production of goods got reduced proportionately.
Unboosted goods building will not be affected.
Production rate of coins and supplies will not be affected.
Recurring events like Christmas and other events can run simultaneously.

Balance: Cities that are normally inclined with negotiations rather than fighting will have to suffer and may halt exploration in the continent map. Guild expedition may suffer a blow. Cities that are normally inclined with fighting will have to suffer but not sure how. Not really sure how this will affect the players in each age so not sure what balance to offer. Daily quest rewards and events quest rewards will increase if the challenge requires spending of goods.

Visual Aids: None

honestly, don't really like the idea, simply because there's no visual content anticipated in it.
would suggest a massive flood coming from the southwest/west of the city instead. think it would be spectacular scene to see only rooftops and tips of black tower, alexandria, aachen and the survived citizens gathered in panic on that smallest top balcony on babel. so, yes, a fatal impact on population must be implemented to add some realism to it.
also, maybe just to hit not all, but just some players? random, of course....

60% is still too high
I would suggest 20%

Daily quest rewards and events quest rewards will increase if the challenge requires spending of goods.
why ?

doesn't make sense
there are many players who only spend goods there

so why should those player be rewarded ?

or is this idea to fool people?
you are not suffering (because you are a fighter and don't need goods elsewhere) but trying to getting more daily and event rewards ?

I'm not a developer, but this sounds like something that would be incredibly difficult to implement into the current game.

I have played PC strategy games before where the weather conditions and seasons affected things like certain resource collection rates or troop travel speeds, and they did add an excellent challenge to those games. But unfortunately I don't think it's suitable for FoE. Maybe in a new game that Inno develops in the future?

-1 for FoE. +1 for an entirely different, brand new game.

-1 For many reasons.
  1. Why would players want something that won't help the game?
  2. Also, players can just stack goods beforehand.
  3. Same with supplies and coins.
  4. Some extreme paying players might riot if Inno actually did this as they paid but also got nerfed. The only solution is to avoid nerfing them, but that is unfair.
