if you've used your defenders in an attack and they are damaged then they will be weakened for city defence until healed

yes and no. Your weakened units will be weakened when defending. The attack itself doesn’t effect you BUT they’ll be able to plunder one item if they successfully get through

Relax. Determined attackers will always break through, the only issue is if they plunder - and they only have 24 hours in which to do so. All they can plunder is one production. Just try to collect promptly.
