A man lives on the 19th floor of a building. Every morning he takes the elevator from his apartment and down to the exit on the ground floor. He goes to work and comes home in the afternoon. He then takes the elevator from the ground floor to the 8th floor, exits and takes the stairs up to the 19th floor. Why doesn't he take the elevator all the way up to the 19th floor?
The elevator costs money if you use it to climb above the 8th floor.

Is it something to do with his work?

He likes chocolate but he also likes girlfriends.

I know! He does the shopping for an elderly person who lives on the 8th floor. Then the said elderly person takes the lift to the ground level, so the man has to take the stairs.

He gets out on the 9th floor (if you count ground level) and still has 11 floors to go. That makes 911 wich is the us emergency phone number and since it is not advised to take the lift in case of emergency he gets out.

He is too short to reach higher than the 8th floor button?

That was a good one!

You are on a game show and trying to win a donkey. The donkey is behind one of three doors: A, B or C. You have to guess which door. You guess door C.
The game show host says the donkey is not behind door A. Do you stick with door C or change your guess, and why?

Change your guess, because you have a 66% chance of winning the donkey.

The longer answer is: When the host shows you what is behind door A, it's not a random choice he's picking dependant on the door you chose and will never contain the donkey.
