Implemented: [GvG] Guild Wars Idea

Galladhorn

Monarch

Not sure about the calcualtion but the idea is certainly a good one. Too many players do not know how to GvG or are simply not interested since it just seams like not being really benneficial at all unless you fight. And we all know that a large part of players in FOE are not fighters but farmers and builders. This idea would set an intent to get more involved in Team gaming.

Most active GvG guilds have both fighters and Farmers and the GvG wars can be won without either so it is a great idea IMO.

Here's another idea:

Deployed Guild Armies should grow old and age, and finally die, thereby, needing to be replaced. Guilds have deployed armies in various guild maps and have had no activity for months and maybe even a year or two. Those maps are locked up by long term guilds who will not attack each other. That's fine, but cause the long term deployed troops to fade away thru aging. That would at least cost them something to hold on to them indefinitely.

Why do you not just attack those guilds? Than their troops will fade away, no need to have to implement anything for that (and no need to wait for that either)

For the guilds burried and without landing zones that suggestion is impossible. No need to attempt it; it's not even a choice!
Aging troops is a required feature, to keep the maps, especially the old ones with locked up sectors, vibrant and moving.

But there are guild on the landing zones, you can attack those, making the maps vibrant and moving again. And with a good guild even go deep into the land.
To me, it looks more that you are angry about those guilds whose strategy won and got them those remote sectors, than that you are only concerned about the lack of action on those maps.
Find a strategy to go against those guilds, but do not demand the game to be modified so that it suits your playing style better.

But that was not the topic here.

+1 Points for adding DAs would be a good incentive. Players already get points for adding goods to the Guild Treasury.

with recent changes to GvG this would now be open to abuse. Can add spearmen to defences on AA map you could in theory sit all day make spear men and replace defences. Points may not be massive but it's still an issue.

Neutral. I've not felt like incentive was needed to place DAs personally and I'm not sure those who would need to be thus encouraged to do so would be the kind of players who would be all that interested in quite a negligible amount of ranking points.

Simple get rid of the silly landing zones opens up the maps and creates a fluid map instead of large guilds taking land and then releasing that no guild can access get rid of them and lets have fluid battle maps
